From Law to Life Purpose
I am a qualified Career Development Practitioner, but used to be an admitted attorney, conveyancer and notary. I worked in the legal industry for 14 years. I hated my job and spent many unhappy hours at the office, feeling guilty for being unsatisfied with a seemingly glamorous career. I was far more interested in truly understanding my children (triplet boys) than practising law – the nurture vs. nature question often comes up with multiple birth children.
Searching for Meaning
I searched and searched the internet, hoping to fill an inner void…
Hoping to find my true purpose and calling.
Trying to match a career or occupation with my personality and skills.
I wrote plenty of aptitude and personality tests and discovered that I loved working with people – especially those uncertain about which career path to follow.
Career Confusion: My Expertise
I am no stranger to indecision!
I initially enrolled at university to study:
Medicine, then Law, then Music, then Medicine again, then Teaching and finally, I settled on Law
I could academically pursue any of these, but no one considered my temperament or inner design.
Many years later I qualified as a Career Development Practitioner and can now confidently guide and advise my clients on school subject choices and suitable, rewarding careers.
Discovering Design
I now know that everyone has a DESIGN unique to themselves.
And if you understand that DESIGN, you will find a career that truly engages and energises you.
Understanding and appreciating your unique temperament and inner design will also transform your relationships – with your co-workers, spouse and children.
